Another fabrication project for a fellow patron of the Tonga Hut Tiki Lounge in North Hollywood California. This client was a fan of the classic Universal Monsters, specifically the Wolfman and a particular post that had a similar motif and color palette. The rest was up to me to come up with to fit within the parameters of the bar. 2x6" in.

Here are some initial sketches given to the client to choose from.
Ultimately settling on the last concept design, I wanted to give the piece more depth by creating a layered scene. The background may look like one piece but is in fact a layered piece over the original balsa wood piece which is then layered on top with the letters and the moon resting directly on the wood to somewhat even out with the letters that are only slightly elevated. As this is still for a tiki bar, a row of silhouetted moai heads rest in the top background where in the original poster art was a silhouette of the villagers chasing the Wolfman through the forest.
As always a mix of wood, Super Sculpey and acrylic paint was used to create the final piece.
